Gaël COADOU

Assistant Professor

Analysis and modelling team team

BIOGRAPHY

G. Coadou is teaching Molecular Modeling to undergraduate students at the University of Rouen Normandy since 2005.

His research interests focus on NMR and Molecular Modeling to investigate ligand/receptor interaction, to elucidate enzymatic mechanisms and to guide rational design of new organic molecules for therapeutic purposes.

He obtained his PhD from the UPMC in 2004 working on the structural determination by NMR of Vpu, (HIV-1) and β-catenin (Cancer). He also studied by STD and TrNOESY NMR the interaction of the phosphorylated motif DpSGXXpS of these proteins bound to β-TrCP. He continued as a Post-Doc in the group of R. Benarous (Institut Cohin, Paris) on the structure determination of proteins involved in HIV-1 infection (AKAP149, SNF5/Ini1).

In 2005, he joined the Analysis and Modeling Team of D. Davoust/H. Oulyadi in Rouen and used screening & docking for rational design of therapeutic molecules targeting ovarian cancer (interaction with McL-1) or Alzheimer’s disease (prodrug of AChE inhibitor).
